Molt - "Self Titled" 12" TGIC157

The intriguing part of learning of a new band that consists of veteran musicians from multiple bands across genres is hearing how it all comes together.  Portland's Molt is no exception.  Featuring members of PNW, NorCal and NYC bands like RLND, Beau Navire, Burials and Other Forces, form and present a new noteworthy thumb print / identity welcome in a healthy post hardcore and punk scene.
This upcoming TGICRECS debut is a new band that doesn't sound like a new band, not with compositions that span across sub genres with an intentional hand on song writing and execution.
MOLT's first single "Sucker Spring" draws comparisons to "Empty Rooms" era Suicide Note and the grown reservedness of the Post-Majority Rule project Haram, representing the strong tapestry of styles that their "Self Titled" debut has to offer.

This was said about "Sucker Spring" "Riff worship like a spider strangulating its dinner- cold and relentless. Rituals of cutting guitars and the distorted bass lick drives with the bass and shimmering guitars like a post-punk anthem, then hits the heavy like a creature breaking its own skin open. Making Molt a perfect name! Cold like the city they come from, threatening like a recluse in a closet, like a body that cannot be contained." Animal Bite guitarist B. Edward Schulte
